You all mount the stairs and Pythia shoves open one of the doors. Keystone Hall reflects the magnitude of the city outside. You step straight into a short, yet tall, hallway. It leads to a wide open circular room, light coming from the triangular windows in the ceiling. In the center of the room is a raised circle, panels of buttons and screens embedded in it. In the center of the circle is a dimly glowing blue dome. "Welcome to Keystone Hall, planning central station of Onatora." Pythia puts her hands on her hips, looking around with a firm nod. "Feel free to look around."

I glance around the room. Anything that stands out to me in particular?

You're fairly curious about the odd glowing dome in the island planted in the middle of the room. Other than that, there are holographic screens and touchpads in all four corners of the room to poke at.

I head straight there. Gotta distract myself.

HALE marches to one of the room's corners.

Is there information on the screens?

Are there chairs?

Is there any stronghold lore I could examine in the room or read?

The screens only control what information the hologram above them on the wall projects. Currently, it displays information on a certain type of spaceship. There are no fucking chairs. You can fly. There is no lore readily displayed.

I head to the dome at the center of the room. I'll look at the spaceship in a moment.

I can’t take a fucking nap while flying!

Sure you can!

NXSFBNFHJ I just cross my arms and lean against the wall instead, tapping my foot nervously.

The dome hums lowly, electric currents racing along the surface. "I wouldn't touch that." Rigel advises from across the room. "I did, once. It only takes once."

I pull my hand back. Wasn't thinking about touching it at all. "What does it do."

"It's a three-dimensional holographic projector." A new voice echoes from the entrance to the room. There stands a cloaked man, watching you, face neutral. Behind him wander in a few people you recognize... (Someone please add Al and Alex.) Pythia's mouth drops open and she freezes. "Painon...?"

I turn around and my eyebrows shoot into my hairline. "Cole? Silas?"

Painon goes a pale pinkish grey, bringing his hands to his chest nervously, not even managing to muster up a smile. "Mother..?" Faster than you can blink, Pythia appears in front of Painon and wraps her arms around him in a hug. He jumps, but it doesn't take long for him to melt into her, hugging back. Cashel merely steps aside and watches, smiling softly. Lirium crosses her arms behind her back and glances down at her feet, undoubtedly feeling pretty awkward.

I smile as I watch this. I’m really relieved my friends look alright.

"Who the fuck are you?" I call out to the robed fucker with the staff. "You're not one of the ancestors, are you."

I wave to Painon. Then I see Cole. My eyes dart between him and Hale. I stay silent and uh... look down I then collect myself and smile and look back up and wave to Cole.

He turn his head to you and his smile fades to a look of muted curiosity. "I am an Adjuvant, Ogygia. I see you haven't changed."

I frown. "Fuck does that mean. I've never met you before."

"Not that you remember." Now he smiles again, but it's full of charming playfulness. "I would love to speak with you more, when you have the time." Pythia and Painon finally let go, and they're both crying. Though Pythia only has a single red tear on her cheek, Painon's are flooding with pink ones. He quickly raises a sleeve to wipe them off and hide his face, but Pythia gently stops him.

I give him a grimace and turn back around. This isn't my scene. Now, that ship looked real fucking cool. I head back to the corner.

Oh fuck wait. I look up at cashel. “Adjuvant?”

She whispers something to him, brushing the water off his cheeks gently. Painon visibly droops. You almost feel sorry for him. Cashel nods to Quin. "Indeed. You're Quin, Sam's charge, aren't you?"

I squint at him. “English, please.”

"Sam pledged to protect you."

“The fuck? How do you know her??”

Lirium wanders over to a corner and Rigel follows.

Do I see Silas?

i wave excitedly at hale and run up to him. it's been, like, less than a day since i've actually last seen him, but i still yell something that's either "hey!" or "hale!" and give him a nice big hug. you do now.

Cashel smiles. "She's my friend too. We're both Adjuvants. We've known each other forever."

“...oh. Uh.” I open my mouth to refute that, before realizing that I know Jack shit about sam’s past, or other friends. So I just close it. Nod. Walk over and straighten my back, and hold out my hand. “That’s cool. It’s nice to meet you.”

"It's nice to meet you as well." Cashel smiles brightly. "I'm Cashel. I've heard great things about you."

I feel genuine shock at that. “Uh, like...?”

"That you're a good friend, a reliable person, and a worthwhile ally." He shakes your hand, cause I forgot to say that before.

Oh thank God I thought he left him hanging

I yelp and stumble, but quickly regain my balance. I look down. "...Hey," I say quietly, and pat Silas very hesitantly on the shoulder.

I nod faintly, and take my hands and wipe them on my pants. “Cool. Okay. I... haven’t heard shit about you, sorry.”

i take the cue to stop actively wrapping my arms around him, but i tighten my grip before letting go. i proceed to just kind of stand there and just kind of watch hale do whatever he is doing.

"I understand. Sam did a great deal to conceal her true path from you. She never wished to place you in any danger." He clasps his hands behind his back.

I stare at him for a moment before also clasping my hands behind my back, just to be polite. I nod again. “Cool, cool. That’s very... stupendous.” I don’t know what stupendous means, but I hope it’s fitting.

Painon summons his staff and hands it to Pythia. She turns it over and examines it thoroughly, knocking out the steel shard and handing it to Painon directly. Once he captchalogues it, she hands him the staff. Cashel snorts softly, laughing. Lirium and Rigel's conversation is suddenly punctuated by Lirium wrapping the ancestor in a hug. He looks fairly surprised, but hugs back a little awkwardly.

I spare Silas a conflicted glance before turning back to the screen. I stare at the ship. Yeah, I'm not absorbing anything. I look back at Silas. "Uh," I say, and frown. I hesitate. "Sorry."

i raise an eyebrow at him. "what? don't be! you didn't do anything," i say with a slight chuckle, albeit a good chunk of concern too.

I snap my mouth shut and look away. "I..." I reach for my phone, but stop halfway through and fold my arms tightly in front of my chest. "Alright." I shake my head. "Fiddler got evacuated. Only a few hundred stayed behind." I scoff. "Only."

"but that's not your fault. you know that," i tell him. i scan the room for finn and try to gesture him over with a nod toward hale.

I walk over.

"Yeah, mayb--what." I turn fully away from the screen. "What are you doing."

well *now* i stop, midway through slowly reaching up to (gently) poke one of finn's dog ears, ideally without him noticing. i slowly lower my hand. "nothing!" i say. "just thought some more trusted company might help"

I don’t notice.

"Trusted comp--" I put my head in my hands and turn back around to face the wall, resisting the urge to bang my skull against it. I take several deep breaths. When I turn back around, my face is a stony neutral. "Hi, Finn." I say, avoiding looking directly at him.

“hey hale” “also hi dont think weve met im finn”

i reach my hand out for a handshake. "silas! hale's told me a lot about you," i tell him with a smile.

TaciturnRenegade does not live up to his name. I go bright red. My jaw is clenched so tight it's a miracle I haven't broken a tooth.

I give Hale a sideglance and a smirk before turning back to Silas. “all good things i hope”

I grimace at that.

"of course," i say with a little nod.

"Don't lie," I say quietly.

i sigh lightly at the conversational hell i have apparently just configured for myself. i give hale a little smile that says "shut up" then turn back to finn with a smile that does not say that. my hand is still just kind of out there and it isn't too late to shake it.

Oh shoot I thought I absolutely shake his hand.

I keep my mouth shut, but heave a long, frustrated sigh.

Please add Vera, John, and Justi. Sam stops dead when she sees Quin standing next to Cashel near the center of the room. "Quin?" Her voice is hoarse and faint, like she barely even believes that you're really there. It is indeed. Parker blanks at Finn standing in the corner, glancing from his ears to his face incredulously.

My head snaps up at the sound of her voice, and I see her in the doorway. I stare in shock for a moment, before my face breaks into the biggest smile I've ever had. "Sam!" I shout, running towards her.

"QUIN!!" Sam runs towards you too, faster than you've ever seen her run before. You two collide rather painfully, but you've never been happier. She wraps her arms around you and buries her head into your shoulder.

I wrap my arms around her neck, holding her as tightly as I can. I choke on a sob and bury my face in her hair.

You can hear her muttering into your shoulder incoherently, arms shaking around you.

Do. Do I recognize him?

I stop dead as soon as I see Sam, and my breathing goes very, very shallow. I reach out on instinct and grab Silas's wrist in a vicelike grip before going pale and pressing myself against the wall.

I stroke her hair, still half crying and half laughing.

Parker feels familiar in a way that you have only ever felt once before- when you woke up staring at Milo. His face explodes in a grin and his eyes practically go starry as he sprints towards you. "FINN!!!"

It takes much less time for me to piece this one together. I don’t move but the tension I didn’t know I had drops. I say in a quiet voice. “dad?”

i turn to face hale with rising concern. i look back around, planning on tapping finn's shoulder to try to get his attention, but i see he's off doing pendragon things and it is probably not a great time to interrupt that. "hale? what's going on?" i ask, a little quieter than usual so as not to attract as much attention.

I press my lips together and shake my head violently. "I left her to die," I say in a hoarse whisper. "She took my place when I was drowning. I walked away. I thought she wasn't real."

"she wasn't though, right? was that not all just a hallucination?" i maintain my hand positioned such that he can keep his hand around my wrist, but the rest of me moves closer to the wall and motions for hale to sit down against it with me.

I do just that, not moving my gaze from Sam's happy reunion for a second. "She was." I glance for a split second at Silas, gauging his reaction. Even quieter, "She's apparently my sister."

my eyes widen with a little "oh," and then proceed to unwiden because they would've had to at some point. "well she's here now, isn't she? so either she got out and she's okay, or it really was just a dream. either way, she's alright now," i tell him, matching his volume.

I shake my head. "It doesn't matter."

"precisely my point," i reply, a slight smirk on my face.

"FIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNN!!!" Parker wraps his arms around your waist and hoists you into the air, laughing gleefully. He sets you down not a moment later, hands on your shoulder, practically jumping for joy. "You're here, you're here, you're alive, you're a dog, oh my god, oh my god!!" He exclaims, words becoming progressively louder. Sam pulls herself away and takes your head in her hands, scouring your eyes with tears in her own. "You look... differ-" She clears her throat. "Diffe5ent."

My smile falters, and I nod. "I know. I need your help getting these things off later." As soon as it falls, though, it picks right back up. I bring a hand to wipe away her tears. "God, I- you- I thought you were hurt. Fuck, I thought you'd DIED." I give another breathless laugh. "But you're fucking- you- never. Not you. You-" I shake my head, tears falling down my face, and hug her again.

"You don't get it, do you," I say, breaking from Sam to fix Silas with an intense stare. And then look down, pulling my knees to my chest. "It doesn't matter," I repeat, and fall silent. No need to ruin the mood.

Sam wraps her arms around your back once more. She just stands there, eyes closed, and breathes.

After a brief tight hug, I pull back again, looking her up and down. "You look different, too," I say. "I don't think Gabe's gonna be too happy with you trashing his uniform."

She laughs lightly, and you get the feeling it's been far too long since she's done that. "I'm sure he'll understand." Sam murmurs, bringing a hand up to the pin on her shoulder. Her eyes wander past you and her breath catches in her throat.

I glance behind me, too.

She steps around and past you, continuing past Cashel.

I let go of Silas's arm.

Sam stops in front of Pythia, who raises an eyebrow at her quizzically. Without a word, Sam pulls something from her sylladex and offers it to Pythia, flat on her palm. It's a triangular pyramid, blue like the dome in the center of the room, ornate designs tracing across all three visible sides. Pythia's eyes go wide and she stares at it in disbelief. "My... hologram?" She looks up at Sam in a moment of realization. Sam speaks. "You taught me how to fight. You taught me to protect him." Pythia's eyes light up and Sam opens her mouth to speak again, but she never gets the chance. Pythia pulls her into a hug and she falters for a moment before relaxing into a smile and hugging back. "Thank you. I'm glad SOMEONE was here to take care of him." Pythia pulls away and steps back slightly, waving off the holograph pyramid. "You can keep it."

I just stand there watching them, trying to figure out what the hell is going on.

I am also just standing here because I do not really know who either of the pretty ladies are but that's okay.

Sam turns back and grins at you cheekily, captchaloging the pyramid once more. She quickly scans the room, and her eyes only barely falter when she passes over Hale. "Well, there sure are a lot of us now."
I just sigh. "You're going to explain everything to me later," I say, pointing at her. "No more weird noises from upstairs and then pretending nothing's happening. Got it?"

Rigel abandons the corner that he was standing in and crosses the room to Pirine and Levett. Sam laughs again. It's one of the most relieving sounds you've ever heard. "Got it

I see the other sunless fable members and my face lights up again, but I notice Rigel and decide to stay put for now.

I’m. I’m shaken by Parker jumping up and down on me. Shaken enough to be startled out of whatever I was in and return to my normal self. God. I hug this man I hug him so so hard. I pull away and just start going off rapid fire.

I wave at Quin over the top of Rigel’s head, giving a small smile for now.

Okay fuck it yeah I'm going in. I walk over to Levett and Pirine, choosing to hug Levett first. Not usually my style, but I'm in a pretty good mood at the moment.

I would also like to say hello to Quin, but my eyes are focused on the taller adult coming toward us. I unconsciously hold my pendant in my hand, giving Quin, instead, a small smile in greeting.

I feel a shadow looming behind me so I quickly let her go and move out of the way. I'll say hello to them later.

“ok so first hi hi hi its really good to meet you second sorry about the dog thing its this weird thing that happened to us when we got these pajamas third did you build the house why did you build it like that and did you make the generator cause that was a really really cool piece of technology sorry i dismantled it to escape fourth do you know cinnabar I love her so much and if you built the house you probably sent her to the island with me”

i start to stand up, but i stop midway through the motion to turn to hale. "i'll be right back, okay? don't be afraid to come get me if you need me," i tell him, before heading away from the wall. i cautiously head toward wherever pythia is currently located, distributing smiles, waves, and/or "hi!"s to anyone i make eye contact with along the way.

"It's good to meet you too- I understand the ear thing it happens with godtiers I love it- I sorta built the house but it was mostly Seb because he's kinda the design guy so he ended up building most of everything we needed- I did make the generator and I came up with the way to power it and it's okay if it blew up it probably might not have been that stable anyways- I do know Cinnabar!!" He takes a breath before he continues at a more normal pace than the standard Pendragon yammering. "She's the best dog in the whole world, and I figured it was best to send her to the island with you!"

Well, that's my cue. I stand up, shake myself off, and make a beeline for Cashel. I still have questions for him.

Rigel sees Quin and goes to the corner instead, fucking the hell off. Let the kids have their playtime.

NOOOO RIGEL IM SORRY EMO KING X Alright well time to take advantage of this. I go right back to where I was and give levett a big old hug. "God, are you guys fucking alright?! I heard from this soldier that there was a huge fight with some monster, and- Levett, you're soaking wet, what the fuck- I wasn't sure if everything turned out okay, is it okay?"

Pythia glances at Silas as he approaches, turning to face him with an eyebrow raised curiously. Hey, I bet everyone forgot about this. Watch this. Navy floats over to Hale.

I beam a little, hugging Quin tightly. “Hi Quin!! Everytthing’s okay. Which is why we’re here.”

I let her go, laughing a little, and turn to Pirine to hug him too. I stop in my tracks, though. "Ah. There's... uhhh."

"hey, you're painon and cavall's mom, right? uh, 'blood moon?'"

I gesture vaguely to nothing. "It's- well, sorry, it's not that big of a deal, I guess. It's not. Really. It's kind of stupid."

I raise an eyebrow at Quin, confused about what he's going on about. "< is everything okay? >"

Both eyebrows fly up in surprise. "Yes, I am. Where did you hear 'Blood Moon'?" Pythia chuckles. "It's been a long time since someone called me that."

"Oh- yeah, for sure, no, totally. Yeah. Sorry. Well."

I look my sibling up and down. "Nice. I look better. Shortass."

"It's, uh. About your mom, Etoile. She actually is m- well, no, I guess she's... I don't know if I should call her that." I grit my fucking teeth. "We're related. Technically. Sorry. But not really." "You don't have to do anything with that, I just thought I should probably tell you. You know. A right to know, and whatever."

I take a step back, putting my hands in my pockets. “Wow, you guys sure are awkward...” I mutter under my breath.

I hear levett's comment and feel my face go...??? Red?? Pink?? Whatever combination of those that it does.

My eyes widen in surprise as I take in the new information. Before breaking into a smile. I move forward, and wrap my arms around Quin, giving him a tight hug. Pointedly IGNORING Levett's comment, ahem. "< that's great! that's so ccool, quin, really, it is. why on earth are you sorry about that? >"

"Ouchhh, really? Going for zhe height?" They grin and flip upside down in front of you, lowering their eyelids into a full-fledged asshole smirk. They put both of their palms, open, towards you, so you can plainly see the mind symbols imprinted into the skin on their hands. "At leazt I don't have zhe vibrant teal hair of an ancient 2000'z emo and permanent frown linez."

"on the way over here! painon mentioned hearing some voices and-" i scan the room for cashel, then point toward him. "that guy, cashel, said i could hear the voices too if i listened? so i did, and i heard some cryptic nonsense, but one of the things they said was-" (air quotes) "'the blood moon has risen again,' and cashel got really excited about it and said that the blood moon is you?" i catch my breath and check her expression. "do you know what that means? 'cause i don't, but i figured you should know," i tell her.

Pythia's mouth falls open the slightest bit, and she slowly smiles. "...Well. Hot damn. The blood moon has risen again..." She muses. "Sounds like I have a reputation to uphold."

I just sort of stand there for a second tensely, before putting an arm around his back. "It's really not a big deal," I say faintly. "She didn't willingly give her DNA for the process."

I scoff. "My hair's fucking brown, dipshit. That green outfit of yours make you colorblind?" I reach up and pull a strand of hair down in front of my eyes. "What the fuck." I round on the rest of the group. "Why the FUCK," I begin, at an already pretty loud volume, "did NONE OF YOU--" I point at each of my group members in turn, "--tell me that my HAIR IS FUCKING BLUE?"

I pointedly ignore him. Someone else can deal with his shouting now.

I hear this and turn to Parker. “one sec” I turn to yell at Hale. “i thought it looked nice”

"But- hey. What's this about hearing voices?" She frowns. She also pointedly does not give a shit about Hale.

I go red again and spin back around to Navy, STEAMING. "Can't fucking believe this," I mutter.

I awkwardly pull back, smile faltering just a tiny, tiny bit. "< well, i guess so... i still think it's ccool, though. i mean, 2 siblings! how wonderful is that? >" I wring my hands together. God, she's right. So awkward. So, so awkward. "< um..! have you met cchlori? >

Navy snickers, and it builds until they burst into an all-out cackle, extending an arm to point at Hale. "Your hair haz been blue for HOURZ! Welcome to zhe fucking club!!"

Well, I'm fucking floored.

I abscond, moving to where Cashel is. “Hi. Tthis spott llooked callmmer tthan where mmy friends are doing whattever rightt now.”

I just stare at him for a few seconds.

Cashel nods pleasantly. "Levett, is it? A pleasure. I've been told much about you. Good things only, of course."

"Right. Yes." I shake my head a little. "Yeah, they were the person I was paired up with. They're cool. They already know, and all."

I punch them in the arm. "Shut the fuck up. It's not like I had access to a mirror. I was a little too busy living out my worst nightmares." I pause. "Does it look nice?" I say under my breath, mostly to myself.

I turn back to Parker. “so do you know about Milo”

“Oh, yeah! Tthatt’s good! Nice tto mmeett you,” I say, sticking out a hand for a handshake. “Sorry, I don’tt know your namme.”

“cause he is such a cool dude and id be kinda sad if you didnt know him”

"< oh! oh yeah, we...we saw you in the forest. aha... um. >" Gog kill me.

I just burst out laughing. Bent over, wheezing. It has just been such a long day. I give his arm a little push, and smile lopsidedly. "I see conversation skills run in the family," I manage to get out, before losing it again.

He can't help but let out a few giggles of his own, covering his mouth. "< i- god, yeah, i am so sorry. it's just so hard talking to you guys in, like... gosh, in PERSON! you're all here!! >" His grin is huge, pointed teeth poking out from behind his lips.

"No, man, no sorries. We're in this boat together. Or a ship, I guess. A fucking spaceship." I shake my head. "With vantell attacking it and turrets firing fucking laserbeams at us." I glance behind me at the emo king himself. "It's going better than my last one did, anyways. Steer clear of that guy."

"< the one yelling about his hair? >" I question, peaking over Quin's shoulder. "< wasn't he yelling while we were on derspit, too? i wonder why he's so mad.. >

"Oh yeah. Him, too." I make a sour expression. "He's fine, just that his 'inside voice' is enough to make your ears bleed. But keep clear of the guy over there in the suit. I say two words to the dude and he's telling me about how his stylist tried to drown him."

My eyebrows lift. "< oh, jeez...?? >"

"Yeah, dude. "Oh jeez" is a fucking understatement. What makes it worse, too, is that I said he 'must have a lot of drip'. God. If we're like this, I can't wait to meet Etoile." I look over his shoulder. "Do you know where she is, by the way?"

"*HELLLLLLLLLLLL* YEAH, it lookz nize!!!" Navy crosses their arms in front of their chest and their legs above them, still upside down. "We match now. Even if you're taller and I frown lezz."

"i'm not sure what the voices were about," i tell pythia. "i could only hear them when i tuned everything else out. i think painon and cashel heard them without having to do that, though, so i'm not sure what that says about those two, but..." i shrug.

"< oh, um... she... >" I frown, rubbing my arm. "< she didn't ccome with us. she said she would meet us here. >"

"Oh." I feel my face fall a little, but cover that shit right back up. No need to get my hopes up. "So you met your mom? That's fucking baller, pirine!"

I.... I do not know what baller means, but appreciate the sentiment anyway. I think. "< i ccan't wait for you to meet her, quin. she's wonderful. >" I smile, holding my pendant once again.

I allow myself the BAREST trace of a smirk and relax just a little bit. This is... comfortable, actually. "Hey, uh..." I trail off. "Whatever you did back at Navraxis. Thanks."

Rigel glances at Pirine again, then down at his pendant. He scans the room again, as if hoping that he had just missed Etoile's entrance.

I just give a long exhale, still smiling. I start giggling, and a tear rolls down my cheek. "Great chat, Pirine. I think I need to go sit down," I say, giving him a thumbs up. "Let's catch up later." I give a short wave and head back over to Sam.

I give a thumbs up back, smiling as well, giving a nod as Quin walks away.

"Oh." Navy rotates, uncrossing their arms and floating a good few inches above the ground, smirk faded. "It waz nothing. Glad you didn't come out zhe other zide nize and crizpy."

I raise an eyebrow. "Didn't you die?"

"Very dead. All zhe way dead, in fact." They give two thumbs up. "Now I'm all zhe way alive. Crazy how the world workz."

"What happened with your group. Did you get your shard yet."

Pythia hums and frowns. "Painon isn't the seer. Neither is Cashel..." Her frown dies and eyebrows jump in sudden realization. "Oh, wait. The shards." "Got it right here!" They grin and pull out their shard. It glimmers a vibrant cerulean, color shifting inside.

"his is the same one that made us all start hallucinating when he put it in his staff, so... maybe?" i note.

Pythia turns her head to you completely. "Yeah. That one. It's... one- Well. Nevermind."

i nod. "agreed."
I grab sam's hand as I walk and drag her over to a wall. "Let's go. Catchup time."

"I do know about Milo!" Parker exclaims, though quieter than before. "I heard he disappeared, though you give me the impression that he's okay?"

I pull out my own. Still purple. "What do you think they do?"

“i mean last time i saw him he was ok im worried now though”

"...did you know my mom?" i ask pythia, following a short pause in our conversation. "the baroness, i mean"

Any trace of a smile Pythia had on her face fades. "Yeah. Yeah, I did. I knew her for a really long time." She stares off into the distance, glancing at you briefly before continuing quickly. "We were moirails."

"oh, uh," i rub my arm and peer toward the floor. i swallow. "what was she like?"

Pythia pauses, going quiet for what seems like forever. At first you don't think she's going to respond, or she's going to respond by either marching away or giving you a swift kick in the ass, but she speaks soon enough. "She was amazing. Kind, sweet. Pretty too. Good with animals, always liked... her animals..." Pythia raises a hand and buries her face in it. "Sorry." "Just- give me. A second." Perfect timing. Could someone add Holly, Casey, and Tima?

YES FINALLY

Suddenly, these four fuckers walk into the room.

I take a second and stop walking, looking around the room at everyone."Holy shit." I say, to no one in particular.

"please don't be sorry," i tell pythia, vaguely quietly, making what would be eye contact if her hand weren't where it is."i'm sorry, i shouldn't have asked. i've just never met her, and.. well, you know, you get curious-"oh hey, i turn and look at the door, seeing the new party enter and politely waving hello.

Rigel looks up at the newcomers and straightens instantly. "Er. Seth...?"
"No, it's fine. Showtime smiles and all." When Pythia drags her hand from her face, you couldn't even tell she was upset, smiling brightly. "Alright, let's see who we've got here.

I look and start hitting Parker on the shoulder and pointing. “speak of the devil its him its him”

Seth looks over to Rigel and stops in his tracks. "You. Look like me? Hey, wait." Rigel snorts and bursts out laughing. "Come here, idiot."Seth begrudgingly trots over and accepts Rigel's hug. The elder of the two ruffles Seth's hair, still chuckling. "Yeah, you're my son, alright."

I give a wave back at Silas, and step further into the room, at this point I'm just trying to see if all of my friends are here and okay.

Everyone is! Every single one of your friends is in this room, right now.

I excuse myself from conversation with Navy by doing the polite thing and leaving away mid-sentence. I scan the room for Cashel and walk over as soon as I spot him.

“Hello everyone” Milo waves with a small smile.

I'm visibly relieved at that fact, and move to the side of the room for the moment, just watching everyone talk. Actually, this might be a smart time to fix my saber,I'll pull out the crystal and case so I can screw around with that.

"well, uh, thanks for telling me about her! i'm gonna go check in with some of the others now. have fun with your.. blood moon rising stuff?" i tell pythia with a little shrug, heading away and looking around the room for someone else to say hi to.

Cashel watches you approach silently, waiting until you're close, but still not speaking until you do.

"What do you know about me," I say bluntly. "How. Why."

"I know more than you want me to. I've seen you before." He hums. "I suppose I feel responsible for you, in a way, seeing as we are the only two of our kind."

i decide to go over and greet maia, remembering her from around the end of derspit, when i gave her that crystal. i do not remember her name. i just kind of stand nearby, hands in pockets, and nonsuspiciously watch her do lightsaber things.

I stare at him for a long moment with narrowed eyes. "Fuck does that mean."

Milo just stands to the side quietly.

"We're the only two sylphs." He smiles faintly. "It isn't easy to master your power."

“GET HIM”

Parker sprints towards Milo at light speed, tackling him to the ground at the same time Finn does.

I raise an eyebrow and motion for him to elaborate.

"I suppose," Cashel sighs. "I will stop dancing around the matter at hand for five seconds and be frank. I want to help you learn how to use your powers to the full extent of your ability."

Both eyebrows, now. I drop my hands to my sides. "Oh," I say. After a moment, I remember myself and resume glaring. "How do you know so much about me."
How tall is he?

I notice Silas standing nearby, and look at the crystal in my hand, then back over to him. I stop messing with the saber for the time being. "Hey." I say, giving a slight nod in his direction. "How're you doing?"

"i'm alright! trying to hang in there during, you know," i peer around the room and do a brief negative parabolic hand gesture, "all this." i step a bit closer and sit down, assuming this lightsaber repair stuff is taking place on the floor. "how's that, uh, crystal working for you?" i say, with a brief glance at the shard in question.

"Oh yeah, it's fucking great! I mean, I haven't actually used it in the saber yet, but I did have to use just the crystal when we were killing Lanval's lusus, and it worked pretty well. Just stabbed it right in the fucking eye, it was amazing." I accompany this last sentence by stabbing the crystal at the air in front of me, probably a bit more forcefully than necessary in such a demonstration.

Cashel is six feet tall. "It was necessary to keep an eye on you to some degree. You were in a dangerous place, after all." Cashel leans back against the circle in the center of the room, watching your movements curiously.

"I was fine," I say shortly. "I'm here now. Alive."

"Only thanks to us." He smiles coyly.

I level him with a flat, unimpressed glare. "You want to elaborate."

"Do you remember that infection you got on your leg? Nasty one, scraped on a stray piece of collapsed metal scaffolding."

"Yeah. It got better."

"Magically... overnight. Do you really buy that?" It's Cashel's turn to raise an eyebrow.

I hesitate. Open my mouth. Close it. "What the fuck was I supposed to do?" I snap.

"Death was your only option." He deadpans. "There is no medicine in Fiddler, and not a single doctor willing to help."

"You think I don't know that?" I raise my arm so he can see the blatantly visible scars there. Like he couldn't already. I drop it. "If there's a miracle in Fiddler, you don't question it, because it won't happen the next time around. Don't tell me about Fiddler."

He nods. "As you wish."
"My offer still stands."
"And," He smiles. "I do believe that you are short of a weapon, in any case."

I stop and drop my arm. "Yeah. I am."

gah okok FINE jesus i havent played dane in so long i dont know what im doingggggggg. ill fly over to pirine and give him a biggg ass hug "PPIRINE!!!! :DD" there bitch

Thank you so much you're so kind to me and I owe you the world. Anything you want it's yours oh god everything is yours btw.
My face flushes from the sudden hug. I HAD been staring at him for a bit now, but was way too nervous to like. Y'know SAY something because that is. So hard. "< dane- i'm so glad you're okay...! >" I say worriedly, and hug BACK that's RIGHT bitches

A soldier comes running into the room, bursting through the doors. They pant slightly. "Admiral Herrne, sir. We received a transmission from a ship. They said their name was, and I do quote," The soldier coughs slightly, "'Ryker Fucking Elwyn'."
"The transmission said, again, I do quote the message, to 'let him down right the fuck now because he shouldn't need to remember the god-forsaken landing codes every time he wants to park his ship and have a powwow with his various pseudo-siblings and their ilk'."
"The transmission also included various ramblings about fistfighting various historical figures and shooting their teeth at the city with a sippie cup straw."
Pythia blinks blankly for a moment, then bursts out laughing. "Holy fuck. I say let the kid land. Anybody who talks like that is someone I'd like to have a conversation with."
Sam jumps to her feet and Cashel stands straight, alert. "Ryker? That's an adjuvant! Come on!!" Sam runs for the door and the soldier steps aside. Pythia shrugs and follows.

I run right along next to her, trying not to trip over this new fancy cape.

I'm not going to list all of the people I have control of because holy shit. Everybody is going outside now.

"< we ccan ccatcch up later. >" I tell Dane, giving him a wide and ADORING smile omfg omg omg. We are going outside now to see the best adjuvant sorry Sam btw.

>i peer back at maia as the rest of the group heads out, and with a little shrug, i hover up and toward the front of the group.

(HOLDING HANDS BTW SORRY EVERYONE)

SWAG

I raise my eyebrows at the commotion, and also get up to follow everyone out.

Outside, on the landing pad, looking up, you can see it. A tiny little ship descends down from the upper atmosphere at an alarmingly fast rate.

"I'll do it," I inform Cashel with a curt nod, and go outside as well.

The ship aims for an open space in the landing bay, which is quickly cleared of people. The ship begins to slow, but not by much.
"They are... BARELY going to make it." Pythia muses under her breath.
"'Barely' is Ryker's specialty." Cashel remarks.

I grin from ear to ear. Holy SHIT am I excited.

Sam glances between Maia and Cole, then at Cashel, who returns the look knowingly. The ship finally comes in for a landing, dropping on the platform with a thud. The ship itself is small and lightweight, angled sharply and painted brightly. It looks expensive. The rear hatch opens and a plume of smoke billows out. Two figure stumble out, coughing.
"Well, maybe if you hadn't have rigged the landing program to make you a fucking cup of coffee, we could have survived without the smoke, your highness."
"'Your highness'? You're the violetblood here, asshole."
Out of the smoke come the figures. One is clearly a highblood troll, silver cape draped around his shoulders with a familiar pin on the left. He has fins and impressively tall curved horns, and he looks halfway between amused and disappointed. The other, a human, just looks plain tired. He has bags under his eyes and freckles dotting his cheeks, green eyes dull with negativity. He wears a plain long sleeved shirt and pants, bearing the insignia of the Baroness, and circular glasses sit on his nose.
"A wise man once said; 'there's a party in my mouth, and everybody's throwing up'." Sebastian offers. Pythia laughs and jumps down the stairs, running and embracing him in a hug.

i look at sebastian, then at cole, then at sebastian. that is the same dude. just older.

"RYKER!" Sam shouts. She jumps down the stairs similarly, running to hug him.Ryker perks up instantly, hugging her back, lifting her off the ground. "What's up, Sam? I missed you guys!"
Cashel follows, embracing them both at once. "We missed you too." They pull away from one another and Sam turns, beckoning Quin closer.

I look behind me for a moment like a FUCKING moron, before biting my lip through a smile and running forward.

"Ryker, meet Quin! Quin, this is Ryker, asshole extraordinaire." He wastes no time in extending a hand for you to shake. "Welcome aboard!"

I look him over up and down, before tentatively shaking his hand. "Nice to meet you," I say, giving a little nod.

I look back and forth between the two that have just exited the ship, before moving a bit closer to where Cole is standing. Last time I saw him was. Well it wasn’t that long ago, but these are much better circumstances. I look at him for a second, raising my eyebrows, before turning back to the commotion at the bottom of the stairs. I do notice the Baroness’s insignia on Sebastian’s shirt, and narrow my eyes a bit, I don’t like the looks of that.

i look at sebastian in a way that is saying pretty much how the FUCK are you here.i also whisper to maia in like a kinda scared tone "he told me he fucking died"

"Of course." Ryker continues. He squints at the fins on the sides of your head, glancing at Sam, who clears her throat quietly. "Those are new."
Ryker releases your hand and laughs. He scrunches his face up a little bit and flaps the fins on the sides of his head. "Fun, aren't they?"
Parker and Rigel both step down the stairs and hug Sebastian, in turn. The newly arrived ancestor glances between the other three worriedly. "Where's Etoile...?"
Parker opens his mouth to explain her absence, both to Sebastian and Rigel, but he never gets the chance. A shadow falls over the sun overhead. When you look up, you see something you really didn't expect to see ever in your life, much less today. A colossal sea monster with two glowing antennae, two rigid front paddles of a sea turtle, and a mass of tentacles behind her swims through the air right over your heads. A person, tiny in comparison, jumps off her head and floats down to the ground beside you.
Etoile is grinning and her hair is glowing as she lands next to the other ancestors. "Sorry I'm late!" Verdigris, above you, continues flying through the air. She soars right over the wall and down the cliff, crashing into the ocean with a mighty wave of water ahead of her.

I laugh and do the same. “Haven’t had much time to test them out, yet.” I look up and see etoile float down and tense a little, and find sam’s hand silently.

Etoile embraces each of the ancestors one by one, ending with Rigel. When the two pull away from one another, Rigel is grinning wider than you've ever seen him before. "I missed you."
"I missed you too!" Etoile smiles back. Pythia glances around at the ancestors, then past them to the adjuvants, then up at the descendants. She mutters something to the other ancestors and they nod solemnly. They scatter a moment later. Sebastian, looking somewhat reluctant, heads towards Maia and Cole. Etoile beelines for the adjuvant group.

Oh boy. I just stand there and try to act natural. Which is a little ironic for me. “Nice weather,” I say to the others weakly, face paling a little.

Etoile clasps her hands in front of her and clears her throat. Sam can't help but smile, giving you a pat on the shoulder before she turns to the other rogue in question.
"Commander. This is Cashel Keimoni, Ryker Elwyn, and Quin-" She frowns slightly, glancing at you. "Quin Lygari."

“Unaffiliated,” I say softly. I suddenly find my shoes very interesting.

Etoile nods excitedly, smiling at you in particular. "I've heard! It's wonderful to meet you all. Uh, are any of you...?"
Cashel picks up where Sam left off effortlessly. "There is another, descended from you, but she is currently away." Etoile nods understandingly, but she still looks the tiniest bit disappointed.

“Is that, uh. Float?”

Ryker snorts and Sam lowers her head, trying to cover her smile. "Flo. Flo Saylor."
"Aw, what a cute name!" Etoile coos. "I can't wait to meet her."
Sam raises her head and straightens, pointedly not looking at you. "One more thing. You recall the incident with Rigel..? The blood sample and all?"

Good lord holy fuck. Here we go. “Sorry,” I say very quickly. “I’m so sorry that happened to you. It’s - I’m sorry.” I manage to look up at her. “Pirine has told me great things about you, and so had Rigel, and you really don’t seem like you deserved any of that-not that anyone does, I guess,” I say weakly, trying to backpedal. “But especially not you.”

"Oh." Etoile stares at you a little blankly, beginning to rub a spot on her forearm without realizing it. If you were to look, you could see a tiny little scar there. "It's nothing. Why would it be your fault, anyway?" She tilts her head and smiles. "I can put two and two together. You're my son too, aren't you?"

For what seems to be the hundredth time in a few minutes, I’m speechless. I just stare at her for a moment. “You don’t hate me?”

Etoile laughs lightly. "Why would I possibly hate you?" She puts her hands on your shoulders and assumes a serious expression. "But, if you're going to be a part of this family, I hope you realize..."
She breaks out into a grin and wraps her arms around you, hoisting you into the air with another hearty laugh. "You'd better be a hug person!!"

I’m feeling about four different emotions in the span of a few seconds. “Mygodyou’restrong,” I wheeze, giving an incredulous smile. OH SORRY I also hug her back of course. Wouldn’t leave her hanging like that

She sets you down a few moments later, still grinning ear to ear."Sorry. I got excited. Let me know if you have any broken bones and we can find a life player." Etoile punches your shoulder lightly.

since seb is near me now. "w...... what" i kinda gesture at everything

I’m just standing here. Somewhere.

“No- don’t be sorry,” I say quickly, shaking my head. “You’re. This. This is wonderful.” Fuckssakes, my throat gets a little tight again. “Sorry, I’ve just never, uh. This is new.”

He would never ever interrupt but he’s just standing and squeezing Dane’s hand excitedly. Like omg there she is she’s back.

"Oh yeah, it's a shitshow." Sebastian replies without hesitation, smiling at you. "I'm... sorry. I don't really know what to say. Did you..." He clears his throat. "Get the recording?"

"yes i fucking got the recording i thought you died. is all of this like. real? what the hell happened" man im just like rlly confused here. standing

"It's okay, take your time!" Etoile pats your shoulder gently. "I understand how hard it is to get used to-" She gestures a hand about widely. "All this. For now, I have..." Etoile glances behind you. "Someone to speak with."

I smile at that, glancing back at chlori as well. “Have fun,” I say happily. “They’re great.”

i also add but quieter "is this really you? youre like alive? why did you tell me youre dead?"

THIS IS EVERYTHINGGG YESSS CHLORI GO GO GO

Sebastian sighs and rubs the bridge of his nose under his glasses. "I thought I would be," He mutters in return. "We all thought we would be."

I stand off to the side, still next to Cole, arms crossed, looking at my father, fucking apparently. I don't really know what the hell I'm supposed to say here, so I just stay quiet for the moment, just watching him and Cole talk.

"well. im glad to see you alive" i give him like a sad smile "didnt think id ever see you"

Oh shit that reminds me. I notice Maia from across the room and grin at her, waving. Sorry for not seeing you earlier Queen

Sebastian returns the look. "I didn't think I'd ever see you again either. I saw you when you were just a brand new baby, for a few minutes..." He trails off, glancing at Maia. "Both of you."

"goddamn" i pause. "...also i thought youd be taller"

"I thought you'd be shorter." He grumbles, arching an eyebrow. "Don't worry, you'll lose a few inches."

i let out a short laugh in response. "we'll see"

I notice Quin waving at me, and give him a distracted wave back, before focusing back on Sebastian and Cole. I have several questions. "Why the fuck is that on your shirt." I say flatly, pointing to the Baroness's insignia.

Sebastian looks down at it and sighs. "Candra put me in different clothes. Not my choice. I'll be changing as soon as possible." Etoile walls over to Chlori, still grinning. She steps in front of her and spreads her arms, wordlessly offering a hug. Etoile wraps her arms around you, giggling back. You haven't been hugged, not like this, since you left your grandmother's house. You forgot how nice it is.

"Oh." I don't know what the fuck I was expecting him to say, but it wasn't that. I stand there quietly for a minute, not sure what to say in response. "What the fuck happened? Why did you think you would be dead?"

Sebastian looks back up at you. "None of us expected to be able to meet you guys, all grown up. It just kind of..." He shrugs half-heartedly. "Wasn't an option. As for what happened, well, that's a longer story for another time."
Etoile sets Chlori down and pats their shoulder. "We can talk later, okay? I have so much I want to show you. But I have another person to chat with first."

I squint at him, before giving a slight nod. I open my mouth to say something else, before closing it, I really don’t know what else to fucking say here, so I end up just uncrossing my arms.

Well, these happy reunions are nice, I guess. I frown. There's nothing for me here, and my mood is rapidly going more sour. I turn on my heel to head back inside.

Etoile paces after you.

Ohoho victim

I stop and let her catch up before turning back around. "Am I supposed to know you?"

She stops as well, a respectable distance from you. "Two really misses you."

I stare. "...How do you know?"

"Know what?" She smiles pleasantly. "When I saw a sylph of rage standing here, it wasn't hard to make the connection- put two and two together, as it were."

Ah. "I see. Well," I jab my thumb at my chest, "I'm one. That's why Two is two."

She nods understandingly. "Are you going to try to kill me too, then?"

I wouldn't say I was having a good time, but whatever bad I was feeling has now doubled. I open my mouth to retort, and then close it when nothing comes out. I settle for fixing her with a burning glare, turning around, and stalking back inside. If the door is slammable, I slam it.

The door slams closed in front of you. "You know, Finley would have said yes."
"If I can make Two talk to me, then I can make you."

I stop dead, shaking. "I don't give a fuck about Finley. I'm not fucking Finley. I'm not fucking EVIL, I'm not a FUCKING VILLAIN, I don't want ANY OF YOU DEAD, you get that?" I spin back around, and I'm ANGRY. Adrenaline pumps through my veins. My fists are clenched, white, by my sides. "I don't know who half of you fucking people ARE! No, lady, I'm not going to try and FUCKING KILL YOU!" I take a few deep breaths that do nothing for my emotional state and start speaking again. At a normal volume, but clearly enunciated, each word thoroughly soaked in rage. "Now some of you seem to think I can do no wrong." My eyes roam over Silas, Finn. "The rest of you seem to think I'm some kind of fucking devil." I look at Pythia, Rigel, all the ancestors present. "Fucking choose, would you?" I spit. And that's it. I cross my arms and wait.

Etoile still smiles at you. You don't know what the fuck is wrong with this woman."Good. So you say it. You aren't like Finley." She straightens her stance.
"And that's my point. You aren't like them at all. If anything, you're more like me. You're powerful now," She notes, eyes narrowing at you. You hadn't even noticed the purple flecks angrily swirling around you as you spoke. "And it's dangerous. Everyone tells you you're dangerous, and you're powerful. Sometimes you hurt people, on purpose, on accident, and you tell yourself it doesn't matter which. And everyone forgives you anyway."
She chuckles breathlessly, dryly, before continuing."But it doesn't matter. Sometimes you get a little too angry, or raise your hand a little too fast, and you see someone wince, and that hurts more than any physical injury you'll ever get. The thing is? That doesn't matter either. They'll forgive you anyway. You can't change that, ever, so don't try."She barely seems to think about what she says, the words just streaming from her mouth. "I'll leave you alone now. If you want my help, I'll be there for that too. Just don't isolate yourself. It only makes it worse. And next time," She locks eyes with you. "Don't walk away."
With this, ironically enough, she turns on her heel and walks away.

I don't move. It takes a good minute for me to even process everything she said, and after that it takes another to actually relax enough to do anything about it.
What the fuck?
What the fuck.
I blink rapidly and shake my head. No, no, no, FUCK. I have to go.
I swallow. Turn back to the door and head inside. I shut it softly behind me.

Etoile meanders back over to the rest of the ancestors, ducking her head and wiping at her eyes as covertly as possible. Parker's shoulders sag and he gently pats her back. Pythia blows air out her mouth, thinking. Pythia taps Etoile's shoulder and murmurs something to her. She perks up quickly. The two walk away from the other ancestors and towards Quin and the Adjuvants. It could be a band name.
"Quin, hey. Remember how I promised to get you a better weapon?" Pythia grins.

I have not stopped smiling for a while now, and this only adds to it. I nod, and take out my shovel.

Pythia pries the shovel out of your grip and turns it over in her own, feeling its weight. She offers it to Etoile, who hums, placing a finger on her chin thoughtfully. "A shovel? Interesting."
"Yes, a shovel. I thought you might be able to provide an alternative, seeing as it most resembles the type of weapon that you have a penchant for collecting."Etoile's eyes light up and she clasps her hands together gleefully. "Well, then! Let's go to the weapon range!!"

I watch the shovel a little protectively. That things been with me through a lot.

Your two new adoptive mothers turn towards the building and head up the stairs. Etoile lags a bit, but follows nonetheless. Cashel also breaks off from the other adjuvants and follows. The four, ancestors blazing forward, Quin in tow, Cashel trailing behind, enter the building and head to the main room.

I have to half-jog to keep up. Short legs are a curse.

Etoile and Pythia push open a door. Four corners, one holographic dome in the middle, and three other exits. They veer towards the right doorway, but Cashel slows to a near stop, glancing around.

I turn and wave goodbye at cashel. I also glance around.

QUIN

Cashel does the entire group a favor and looks up, though without tilting his head up.

I'm floating around somewhere up there, cross-legged and hunched over.I'm staring at my hands, elbows propped up on my knees. I've pulled myself together enough by now that by the time they arrive, I'm not too surprised.

Cashel narrows his eyes at Hale slightly. "If you'd like a lesson and a new weapon, feel free to tag along."

Still turned away from the group, I roughly wipe my eyes one last time before touching down beside Cashel. "Lead the way."

They continue out and down the hallway.

HALE

This hallway is identical to the one leading to the main room, but at the end of it is a completely new place. A large, open room, racks of various weapons against the left wall, targets along the ground and higher up at places along the far wall.Dummies litter the ground between here and there, some standing, some long tipped over. Though empty now, it's obvious the ancestors have spent a lot of time here in the past.Sam decides to abandon Ryker to his Ryker things, striding over to Maia. She's had just about enough of the Lygari side of her family for one day. Ryker's "Ryker things" happen to be walking over to the shortest member of his family and trying to think of something to say. He was not prepared for this.

I turn to look at Sam, a bit confused, I don’t know who this is, why did she walk over to me? “Hi.” I say, hesitantly.

"Hey. You're my little sister?" She begins. Real smooth of her. "No offense to anyone else, but you look a lot more kickass than most of my family."

i turn around and just kind of stare expectantly at the latest arrival to the scene. after what i assume to be a prolonged silence in which i alternate between looking to him and to the ground, i tilt my head to the side a bit and give him an "uh, hey?"

"Hey." Ryker replies casually, sticking his hands in his pockets, underneath his silver cloak. "You're Silas?"

"yep!" i say, with a little nod. "i like your cape! you're, uh, 'ryker elwyn, asshole extraordinaire'?"

He snorts. "Sure am. It's just Ryker, though. Thanks about the cape, it's been through a lot today." He spares a glance back at his ship, which has thankfully stopped smoking.

“Shit, what?” That honestly just raised more questions for me, I raise my eyebrows in response. “What the fuck do you mean I’m your little sister? I thought Cole was my brother, and that was it?”

"Well, sort of. Like everything in this fucked up world, it's more complicated than that.I'm half your sister and half Hale and Navy's, more or less. Part of both ancestors. Don't think about it too hard." Sam shrugs, leaning up against a nearby wall.

>"ryker! that's a cool name," i say. i pause for a bit, trying to figure out how to ask this, before deciding on "so, who exactly.. *are* you? you're with cashel and that other girl with the little triangle pin, right?"

“Huh.” I reply, giving a sort of confused nod, like I do indeed understand what all that meant, before moving towards the wall as well.

"Yep. We're the Adjuvants. Personally, I do freelance work with the Mountain Sun on weekends, or something like that."Ryker shrugs. "Used to have an official title before I stopped giving a shit." "So... rumor has it you've got a lightsaber?" Sam questions, raising her eyebrows in interest.

"oh! i was actually just at this mountain sun place! or, well, navraxis place that was actively getting taken over by mountain sun. you guys are so cool!!!" i assume some combination of a respectful smile and a wide-eyed expression of impressed awe.

"Oh." He grins, after a moment. "Thanks, little buddy. I am cooler than most others, though. If we're being fair."

“Oh, yeah!” I pull my saber out, showing it to Sam. “It’s fucking great, I just got a new crystal for it from Silas-” I point in his general direction. “And oh my fucking god it’s amazing. I mean, I haven’t really gotten to fight with it yet, but yeah.” I nod again. “Yeah.”

"I know the feeling." Sam laughs. "I have double sabers. They combine into- well." She flushes the tiniest bit. "A laser jumprope, pretty much." Ryker clears his throat a little awkwardly, turning his head away from you. "Yeah, this is about as good as I expected meeting my biological family for the first time was going to go."

i tilt my head. "your first.. what? who-" there is the audible sound of two puzzle pieces snapping together in my mind. my eyes widen to the point of little return and you can practically hear the excitement in my voice such that man, if he says no, would that be fucked up or what. "am i.. related to you???"

He looks back at you, still smiling hesitantly. "Yeah, you sure are. I'm your older brother, technically."

My eyes widen when she mentions the double sabers, holy shit. “Wait. It combines into a what? Like. An actual jumprope?” I look at her doubtfully. “How can you fight with that?”
"why didn't you open with that!!!" i say, moving to give him the biggest, tightest hug i can physically muster. "i can't believe i have a brother and a sister! still a little shaky in the parent department but i'm sure we'll get there," i add, loosening my grip slightly.(so as not to full-on crush him, that is.)

Sam laughs, holding her hands out. Her saber handles pop into them. "Verrrry carefully." She winks. Ryker's mouth opens and closes, floundering for a moment. He soon smiles and wraps his arms around you in return, though somewhat reluctantly. "You sure are a friendly little dude, huh." He winces a little at the parent thing.

i grin. "i'd like to think so!"

He pats your shoulder. "...So, how long do Nerium family hugs usually last?"

"oh, right, yeah," i say, letting go quickly and shoving my hands in my pockets. i chuckle lightly.

"Holy fuck." I say, looking at the saber handles, and then back at Sam. "That's really fucking cool!"

Ryker chuckles too, sighing lightly. He spares a glance at Sam, who gives him a quick death glare, and he quickly looks back at Silas. "Thanks!!" Sam grins at Maia. "I'd be happy to show you how they work sometime."

"Shit, really? That's- That would be fucking awesome." I say, smiling back at her.

Sam gives you an ecstatic nod. "No prob... lem. Maybe 'no prob' is a little too informal, having only just formally met you." She rubs the back of her head a little sheepishly.

Pythia and Quin walk back out onto the stairs almost immediately after. Etoile trails behind them.

I perk up again. "Sam!!" I shout, grinning. "Check it out!" I point my staff at the sky and concentrate, trying to shoot it.

Pythia quickly grabs your hand and lowers the staff, laughing nervously. "Let's not turn every turret in the city on us, okay? Okay."
Sam laughs, giving you a thumbs up. "I'll take your word for it. I'm guessing it's pretty cool."

"Oh, yeah," I say thoughtfully.

"Is everyone here?" Pythia releases your staff and scans over the crowd quickly. "Mm. Almost."

it's late

AHH

Cashel and Hale join the crowd moments later, and Pythia nods, satisfied.
"Alright everyone, listen the fuck up. I'm only saying this once."

Milo gives a small nod

"I know this is the first time that you've gotten a chance to see everyone together, but if we don't move, NOW, it will be the last. We have a lot of work to do." Pythia nods and surveys the crowd one last time.
"Descendants will be escorted to the Halls of the Sleeping Heroes to deliver their shards to the clocks. Adjuvants will be tasked with assisting preparations and planning for the Storm. Ancestors will be in Keystone Hall." She glances at the other ancestors around. "We have much to discuss."
"Descendants, if you have any questions, save it. You can ask to your heart's content later." She lowers her eyebrows in a glare. "Well? What are you waiting for? MOVE YOUR ASSES." The adjuvants move first, jumping up the steps and waving for everyone to follow them.

Milo gives a thumbs up and follows after them

I wave goodbye to pythia and etoile and follow the others.

I give a sad lil wave to Etoile also because I promise ma'am I WILL see you soon pensive emoji. I am ragdolling Dane I drag him along.

I hover a few inches off the ground and follow the adjuvants.

Ryker takes the lead, Cashel and Sam behind him. He isn't a leader, but he sure as hell knows where he's going. He lived and breathed this place for years.

I put my saber away, and follow the group.

I move my ass, as per the suggestion.

i follow along, floating shortly above the ground and keeping my hands in my heir outfit pockets that i have.

Back into Keystone Hall, into the planning room. This time, instead of heading left to the training room, the adjuvants walk around the center and through the far door. An identical hallway greets you, tall and imposing. Unlike any of the other doors in here, the doors at the end of this hallway are flanked by guards.

“Woah...”

Pirine stares up at the large doors, a bit intimidated by what lies behind them.

I glance at him. "Yeah, no shit, "woah"." I look at him with a sour expression.

"Everyone shut up."

"Do I know you?"

i silently mouth a "whoa" as i glance around. i'm still shutting up so it's fine.

“Pff..”

"We went to that fucking island together, Quin, I sure hope so. You the concussed one now? Training fuck you up?"

I just look back at the doors and sigh. Back with the clown crew, I see.

The guards in question sweep open the doors in front of you. Behind them is a wide, unlit hallway. The only light comes from small windows in the walls near the ceiling above every bed; nine in total. Eight different beds, of various sizes, types, and colors, are lined up against the wall, four on each side. One bed sits against the wall at the end of the hallway. Each bed clearly belongs to a specific ancestor. You get the feeling all but one of you are about to learn sharing very quickly. "Aw, man." Navy whines, somersaulting in the air. Seth sighs in tired aggravation and Painon's shoulders sag as he glances at his sister. Lirium, on the other hand, grins ecstatically.

I groan. "Can I sleep on the floor."

I just give our escorts a pointed look.

“I call the one on the end, please.”

Sam whistles and points at the lone, plain bed against the far wall, then to Quin. "Sorry kid, bed's taken."

Sad face emoji that I’m to lazy to pull up

"Let's get this over with," I mutter, and stomp over to the far side of the room. Which bed look like Lygari's? Can I tell?

I give a thumbs up and go over to it, laying down as soon as I get there. FINALLY.

Finley Lygari's bed is first on the left. Undoubtedly, they wished to be able to make a quick escape, if necessary. Though it seems like someone really should have been taking care of this place, the bed is thrown apart, sheets and blanket ajar. It's pushed up against the wall behind it, into the corner behind one of the doors. The sheets are black and the blanket is blue, pillow balled up underneath them both.

It calls to me. I fly over and drop down onto the mattress, face the wall, close my eyes, and get to it.

“Are you okay?” He asks Hale and frowns

I hold up a single middle finger.

“Oh okay, goodnight.”

Navy floats over and lands next to him begrudgingly. "Kick me and you're going zhrough zhe wall, emo boy."

Hhewwo emoji. Which one is Etoile's bed?

"Watch it, shortie. I just blew a whole bunch of shit up."

And where’s Milos bed :3

Etoile's bed is second on the right. It has a black canopy full of white stars that look to be flickering whenever it moves, and it's made neatly. It has at least five pillows at the headboard, probably more. The comforter on top is nice and fluffy. You feel like you could sink into it forever.

I sigh, crossing my arms and looking for Sebastian's bed.

I walk over to that bed, and run my hand over the sheets with a smile. I don't think I've ever seen a more comfortable place to sleep in my entire life.

i look around and try to identify candra's bed.

Parker's bed is second on the left, right next to Finley's, which makes the previous interaction that much funnier. It's a little higher than other beds. The blankets drape to the floor on both sides, and a peek underneath would reveal the 'hidden' compartment under the bed. The sheets are white and the blankets are a light, cloudy blue.
Sebastian's bed is last on the left. It looks like a normal bed, by all accounts, but the sheets are slightly off-kilter. Only slightly. The blanket is folded up at the foot of the bed, two pillows sitting on top of it. The sheets are grey and the blanket is the red-brown color of rust.
Candra's bed is last on the right. It has no pillows at all, and the blanket is scrunched up around the middle in an almost nest-like way. The sheets are green and the blanket is white with pink flowers embroidered on it. A sunhat hangs on one of the posts of the bed.
Svalin's bed is first on the right. It's larger than the other beds, covered in a mismatched pile of blankets in various shapes, sizes, and colors. It only has three (tiny, by comparison) accent pillows to its name. It's lower to the ground than the other beds, as well. The sheets underneath all those blankets are a light, misty grey.

Levett makes her way over, too. She just lies down normally, trying to get somewhat comfortable.

I walk over to the bed, grabbing a pillow and unfolding the blanket. I lay down on one side of the bed, staring at the ceiling.

i approach candra's bed and take the hat, placing it upon my own as the start of a great collection. i spread the blanket a bit and climb in, tilting my head against the mattress due to the lack of pillows, such that my face is not flat against the bed and i do not suffocate. i pull the blanket up and close my eyes.

Rigel's bed is perfectly made, two pillows and all. The sheets are dark blue and the blanket is a similarly dark grey. The frame is a dark, polished wood, and a tiny symbol is carved into one of the bedposts. Upon closer inspection, it's a 4-pointed star.
Pythia's bed is barely made, as if it fought itself out of cleanliness. The wood of the bedframe has random chunks out of it, hacks and slash marks at random. There is only a teal, too-small fuzzy blanket on the bed instead of a normal one. The sheets are bright red, and there are three pillows stuffed underneath the bed.
Everyone lays down in their respective beds; some enthusiastically, some very much the opposite. I'm sure you can tell which is which for yourself, so we can skip to the falling asleep part. Sam quickly walks over to Quin's bed, once everyone else has laid down, and hugs him. The three adjuvants look around, each feeling something drastically different about this situation, and leave.

I hug her back. "Good night," I say quietly, so I don't disturb the others. "See you tomorrow."

Yeah, Sam cries once she manages to silently sprint out of the doors. The soldiers close the doors behind them.

I make a running start and leap over at least one bed and land on the foot of the Pendragon bed.

Without warning, one by one, sleep takes you all.
