I hover a ways away from the ship, looking around for something to help with. I glance at where the shield had been. That can't be too good, even if the fighting's over for now. I scan my surroundings, anything nearby that looks like it was connected to the shield?

Three identical towers near the outskirts of the city, all evenly spaced apart. The roofs of these towers have people in them, working on whatever contraption is on top. You recall these three towers bursting on top when the shield was broken.

I approach the nearest tower, landing on the roof. I look around the people gathered up here, what do they seem to be doing?

They're inspecting the damage to the device on top. It looks like some sort of focusing device. In the center, in a closed trap that has now been opened for inspection, is the largest kyburr crystal you've ever seen. Unfortunately, something looks very wrong about it. It's dark instead of glowing brightly, and has faint cracks in it that pulse what you assume to be its original color. The worshiper ship must have drained or fried it somehow.

Ah shit, hm. Does someone up here look to be in charge?

You spot one mechanic that seems to be overseeing the rest.

Cool, I walk over to them. "Hey." I give them a quick nod. "How can I help?"

"Unless you have either a gigantic kyburr crystal or enough money to buy a planet lying around, I'm afraid we're up shit's creek without a paddle." They sigh. "The damn thing has been completely drained. Something about opposing deities and conflicting energies and what have you."

Well. I definitely do not have either of those. The only thing I can think to do is to set up something sort of like a deadzone, but pull time in the zone back to before the crystal was drained, but I don't fucking know if I can even do that right now. In fact, I'll check right now, am I still stuck on only focusing on time?

It's still fritzed.

Well fuck. That is unfortunate. I move back closer to the crystal, trying to figure out something to do to help.

"Excuse me!" A voice calls from behind you.

I turn to see who's talking.

Lyra stands over by the lift up to the roof. Jacamar is beside her, arms crossed. Lyra waves and walks over. "I think I can help!"

I give a hesitant wave back, nodding. "That would be great." I don't know what this kid's gonna do, but I saw her during the fight, I'm pretty sure she knows what she's doing.

The mechanic shrugs helplessly and watches. Lyra walks over to the crystal and hefts herself up onto the platform in front of it. She leans forward and puts both of her hands on it. A glow spreads out over the crystal from her hands. It envelops it, rejuvenating the energy lost. A few seconds later she pulls her hands away. The crystal is back to normal. The mechanics clap and cheer. Lyra turns around, grinning proudly, and jumps off the platform to the roof.

I look at Lyra, and then back at the crystal in disbelief. "Holy shit!"

She walks over to you, and asks with complete sincerity, "Is that the opposite of fuck?" "Hale told me you say fuck when things are bad. So is holy shit when things are good?"

I blink. Fuck, yeah this is a child. I fumble for what to say here. "Uh. I don't think it's the opposite of fuck? It's more. When you're surprised by something." I nod at her. "Yeah. Don't just go around saying it though okay? It's only for when you're really surprised." I nod again, but more to myself this time.

"Oh. Okay." She smiles at you. "Thanks!" "Hey, kid, can you do that to all three of these things?" The mechanic asks, turning to Lyra after inspecting the crystal. "That'd be a huge help." "Sure thing! I should probably go, then. It takes me a bit to walk there." Lyra laughs.

I speak up. "I could fly you there, if that would be easier."

Lyra opens her mouth to speak, but Jacamar quickly interjects. "That won't be necessary, thank you." She narrows her eyes at you in a silent warning.

"Alright." I say, taking a step back, looking at Jacamar the whole time, because what the fuck is her problem. After a few seconds of borderline glaring at her, I turn back to Lyra. "Good luck with the other crystals."

"Thanks! And thanks for the offer." Lyra chuckles, turning back to Jacamar. The two step onto the lift and it descends. Lyra glances back at you with a wave as she disappears beneath the roof.

I watch them go, before taking another look around the roof. Now that the crystal's working, does everything on this tower seem to be doing alright?

The crystal is the only thing that was broken. Everything else is in perfect working condition.

Sweet! I jump up into the air, looking for anything else that I could help with nearby.
