I just sort of stand off to the side for a few minutes, looking around at my assorted friends and family in the room. After a bit, I go walk over to Sebastian. “Hey.” I say, just now realizing that I really didn’t think through what the fuck I was going to say here.

"Hey." Sebastian greets back. After a moment of awkward silence, he continues. "I saw you fighting. You're good."

“Oh uh. Thanks. I’ve had a lot of practice.” I glance off to the side for a few seconds, before turning back to Seb. “Nice uh. Nice cape.” God this is so fucking awkward..

"Yours too." He nods shortly. Yeah, it is really fucking awkward. You wonder if he knows that his parents are here.

Well, only one way to find out, right? “I met your parents.” I say. “I have no fucking clue where they are now though, they said they were going to the armory, but that was a while ago.”.

"I-" He frowns abruptly, turning to you. "What? Sorry- what? MY parents?" "When??"

“Yeah, I mean, technically I saw them twice? But I don’t know if the first one really counts, there was a lot of time shit going on.” I stop briefly as I think back to the doomed timeline, before shaking my head and continuing. I don’t want to dwell on that right now. “But yeah. They helped fight that fucking lusus too, and then came with us here.".

Sebastian brings his hands up to his head and drags them through his hair, exasperated. "So sick of those people showing up uninvited."

“What did you steal?” I ask suddenly, looking up at him. “Back from the first time I saw them, which was who fucking knows when, they were talking about you stealing something.”.

He opens his mouth with a frown, but closes it, thinking. "Depends on when it was, it's either their billion-dollar bomb or their company." Sebastian shrugs. "You can understand why we aren't on the best of terms."

I nod, crossing my arms. "Yeah, makes sense.".
